I am bombarded with images of war, murder, naturals disasters and the list goes on. If that where not enough there are financial struggles that plague me...threats of double dip recession, high unemployment rates ect. All of these things can cause me anxiety if I let them. Not to mention my own inner turmoil that I struggle daily to lay at Christ throne, but that is just what He tells me to do. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 In Philippians4:6 He tells me to be anxious about nothing "but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
I am so thankful for this journey to freedom I am on. I am thankful for the many, many scripture He has given me. Scripture telling me to "cast my cares at his feet, to find my rest in him." Scripture that says..." do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet you heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matthew 6:25-27 Again and again He tells us not to worry.
Isaiah 40:31 puts it beautifully, "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." I hope in these uncertain times I can renew my strength, settle my spirit, soar on wings like an eagle, run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint...all that my Father may be glorified.
until next time....

To overcome worry, develop the right relationship with God, with others, and with self. Overcome worry with FAITH. Believe in the sovereignty of God, the power of self, and the goodness of others. Some way, somehow, with the help of all three we make it.
It is not work that kills men, it is worry.
Keep up your walk in Faith Cindy and thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement Mel!
